Fresh Blast 2009

FRESH BLAST 2009

Are you passionate about singing?
Are you much interested in studying English?
Do you want to be flooded with inspirations and feelings?

What are you waiting for? Come and participate in Fresh Blast.
Fresh Blast is a singing contest held by Economic English Club – National Economics University, sponsored by HVM and Viettel.
Fresh Blast offers students chances to join in music talent activity, to develop your gifts for singing and to show off your abilities through popular international English songs.

The contest includes two rounds. The first round will take place on November 27th and 29th. The final round will conclude the contest on December 6, at Centre Hall, National Economics University.
Students participating in the contest will have an opportunity to get valuable prizes from the organization board, the total prize rises up to VND 25,000,000.

Cuộc thi hát tiếng Anh “Fresh Blast” 2009

“Fresh Blast” là cuộc thi hát Tiếng Anh được tổ chức bởi CLB Tiếng Anh Kinh tế (EEC) – trường Đại học Kinh tế quốc dân với sự tài trợ của Công ty cổ phần đào tạo và giáo dục quốc tế HVM và Tập đoàn viễn thông quân đội Viettel.

Mục đích của cuộc thi là nhằm tạo ra sân chơi giao lưu lành mạnh, bổ ích cho các bạn sinh viên trên địa bàn thành phố Hà Nội. Ban tổ chức hi vọng cuộc thi sẽ là cơ hội cho các thí sinh khám phá và thể hiện khả năng trình diễn cũng như các kĩ năng tiếng Anh của mình thông qua các bài hát quốc tế.

Cuộc thi được chia làm 2 vòng: vòng sơ khảo diễn ra vào ngày 29/11/2009 và đêm chung kết được tổ chức vào 19h ngày 06/12/2009 tại Nhà văn hoá – ĐH KTQD.

Các bạn sinh viên từ 18 đến 25 tuổi có thể đăng kí dự thi theo cá nhân hoặc theo nhóm (không quá 5 người). Tổng giá trị giải thưởng của cuộc thi lên tới 20 triệu đồng.

Actually, it can be easily seen that teamwork, probably one of the most common practices in students’ lives from studying on campus to participating in extra-curriculum activities.

age to think about a wedding. But personally I’m sure that almost all
of you have dreamed of an ideal partner who will accompany with you
for your whole life. Everyone wants to have a long-lasting
relationship. However, the views of a successful marriage diversify
significantly across educational, social, cultural and racial
background. Therefore, each individual has his/her own ways to achieve
a happy family life. As a mature student, what do you think about this
issue?

“350 Day” Report

National Economics University – Economic English Club

“350 Day” Report

On October 25^th 2009, approximately 60 people joined our weekly meeting, whose topic was “350 campaign” – an international campaign against Climate Change.

The meeting was fairly successful. Firstly, attendants were introduced the meaning of the number “350”. Then came the discussion session which attracted great attention from all attendants. They were encouraged to share their own perspectives towards this issue and to discuss the way to help save our planet. Obviously, thirty minutes wasn’t enough for them to fully discuss but it was enough to inspire them to begin a low carbon emission lifestyle.

The atmosphere burned up to the utmost during the “Fun Recycle” game in which all of the five groups showed their sophisticated creativity with startlingly exciting products. This made a tremendously good impression on everyone. From the old newspapers as raw materials, many new objects were artistically and creatively crafted such as: Inorganic – Organic Dustbin, Halloween Costumes, etc…

At the end of the meeting, we, all organizers of this event, did not forget gathering to take a photo with a 350 T-shirt as a way to declare our supports to this movement.

Despite certain shortcomings, our program was successful to some extent. This is a great opportunity for NEU students to get involved in an international campaign concurrently taking place in every corner of the world.

Thanks the entire organizers of Economic English Club for initiating such a meaningful program. Next month, we will have exhaustive discussion on the topic “Environment” with three sub-topics. Advocate of this issue, don’t miss this chance to join us and speak out your idea.

Dear all EEC’s beloved friends,

It has been a long road since October 25th, 2000 – the day EEC was
established. First of all, we would like to address our gratefulness
to your fervent support during the past nine years.

On this special day, let’s spend some minutes reviewing our past
achievements. Well, we should start with some unforgettable landmarks:
• 10/2001: English Celebration, a festival of music and fashion
performances.
• 2002: NEU English Olympic I
• 2003: NEU English Olympic II
• 03/2006: Business English Contest Open (National Economics
University, Foreign Trade University and Banking Academy)
• 10/2006: Workshop “Effective Method of Studying English”
• 07/2007: Volunteer Activities at Hoa Binh orphanage and Phuc Tue – a
centre for intellectually disabled children.
• 10/2007: Workshop “Knocking at Personel Department door” I on How to
Prepare an Excellent CV.
• 03/2008: Workshop “Knocking at Personel Department door” II on Job
Interview section.
• 10/2008: Halloween Party
• 01/2009: Cultural Exchange session with Marshall School of Business,
University of Southern California.

Now, heading to the 10th year, we will strive more to diversify and
improve the quality of our activities to satisfy the on-going demand
of praticing English of students. Being proud of what we have done, we
also realize the most important is how they have positive influence on
participants. But whatever we do, we hope you all support and enjoy
together with us. There will be an official announcement when there is
any new activity, so stay tune!

about Knowledge, and about us ourselves.” claimed Duong Ngoc Tu.

Once again, we want to thank you all for having caught up with our
activities in those years. You might attend many of our weekly
meetings, have fun at our parties, make a lot of new friends, embrace
changes in your own personal habits, or experience the whole new
things while doing voluntary works. Whatever EEC has brought to you,
we all hope that EEC somehow can help show the better you- the
Expected Extremely Cool side in which we believe always lies in you.

We really hope that we can still be great companion with you on the
road to success.

Dear EEC’s beloved friends.

We have been living in the blue planet and enjoying every natural
thing it brings us. Nevertheless, the human is ruining their home day
by day. Have you ever imagined how our planet would be in the future
if if we continue to damage it as we have done for such a long time ?
One of its consequences are the global warming resulting in the ice
melting, droughts,etc.

This week, our topic is “350” – an international campaign dedicated to
building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate
crisis. Do you find it urgent and important to change the conception
and attitude of people toward this remarkable issue? Let’s join us
this Sunday to share your ideas and practise speaking English!
